When we purchased Stoney Meadow Farm in 1995 we never planned on raising goats. Our first 2 Nubian doe kids were purchased from Maple Farm Dairy/ Chestnut Caprines that first spring and we were hooked! Showing began (if you really want to call it that) our first year and when we brought the only 2 entries to our local 4-H show. We didn't have a clue what we were supposed to do, but that was ok because the judge was willing to teach a couple of eager children. We have made a lot of improvements since our first year in both our herd and our abilities. The children have grown into young adults now, but still enjoy showing and working with the goats.

Please check out our does and see what is planned for breeding this year and the cost of kids. We reserve the right to retain any doe as herd replacements. We require a $50 deposit to hold a kid. Discounts given for multiple purchases. If the dam does not produce a kid of the gender you requested we will refund the deposit or you may transfer the deposit to a different breeding. Buck kids ordered from first freshener may be refused after seeing how the dam freshens. All kids must be picked up or shipped between 1-2 months of age. The cost of shipping, transport, and health certificate are the responsibility of the purchaser We can ship out of T.F. Green Airport in Providence, RI for no additional transport cost, Logan Airport in Boston, MA for $25 transport fee. Health certificates are $25. All kids are raised on a strict CAE prevention program. The Linear Appraisals scores are shown from 2002 which was the last year we were apparaised. We plan to resume annual appraisals and will be looking for an oppurtunity to participate in DHIR.
